My dad's band, Buster's Dream, is going to be playing their first official gig ever (previously they've played at parties and open stages and in the recording studio) here in Urbana next weekend on June 21st. They're all really nervous and excited. It'd be great if they could have some serious home town support for this one. If you were ever going to make a road trip down here for a show this would be a fun one!
They're opening up for MJ Walker and Fictive Kin which is hands down my favorite acoustic band in Champaign-Urbana. Guitar, mandolin, flute, percussion, and bass. It's laid back mellow porch music, the perfect compliment to the High and Lonesome blues-laden sounds of Buster's Dream.
If you've heard rumors of an IMC sponsored July 4th festival they have become false. We're going to do the big festival on Labor Day so we have more time to plan for it.

Oh and I'm really serious about this, if you are staying away from these shows just because they seem pricey: admission will be on a sliding scale and, space permitting, no one is turned away for inability to pay. Yes, that means if the only way you could come to this show is if you paid one buck then we'd rather have you there for a buck than not there at all. Just keep in mind that every dollar you pay helps to support this art and the IMC.
