My understanding is that he would continue to subsidize farming but would propose massive reform of the current subsidy system to move the focus away from monocrop mass production towards local food systems.

So "bad" things like cotton subsidies would disappear and "good" things like subsidies for community organic farms would appear in their place?

I can't say exactly what he'd consider "good" or "bad". I'm not an expert. I imagine it's something like what you're describing though. I could probably find out for you if you wanted.

It should be key to understand that for me once a candidate has established my trust that their vision is in the right place and they are honest, I'm not real nitpicky about the exact specific details. I hope that any good candidate will thoroughly research the issues and take advice from expert advisors on the nuances and do the right thing. The key for me is that the politicians operate in the interests of the people rather than in the interests of the business elite. There are experts in manipulating policy for the interests of the elite and there are experts for setting policy in the interests of the people. I trust Dennis to pick the right kinds of expert advisors and to interpret their advice in the right context.
