The Second Annual Porcupine Mountains Music Festival will be taking place August 25, 26, 27 featuring Rory Block, Willy Porter, Melissa Ferrick, Ember Swift, Rachael Davis, Trina Hamlin, Hamell on Trial, and 18 other acts on 2 outdoor stages overlooking the south shore of Lake Superior in the beautiful Upper Peninsula, Michigan wilderness. Tickets are on sale online for 10% off ($45 for a 3-day weekend pass).
This year the festival entrance will feature a busking stage where anyone can perform. It's like an open stage but with hundreds of people streaming by as they enter the festival. The best way to play the busking stage is to schedule a time slot in advance!
This year's festival will also feature a children's activity tent, several educational workshops from our artists, and some surprise collaborations.
Linda Kermeen, Founder and Co-Director of the Porcupine Mountain Music Festival, to be held August, 25-27, 2006, has announced the addition of a "busking stage" to this year's Festival layout.
The busking stage will be an all-acoustic (no electricity) location on the festival grounds where interested amateurs and performers alike will have an opportunity to perform". Buskers will not be paid by the Festival for performing, however, tip jars are permitted and scheduled buskers will receive free admission into the festival on the day of their busking performance.
Anyone interested in signing up for a busking slot is asked to email Linda Kermeen at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at 800-344-5355.
Please indicate a date/time preference and the estimated length of the performance. Please note that busking slots are limited and will be assigned on a first come-first served basis. The deadline for signing up is August 1, 2006 and buskers must have their slots reserved by the deadline in order to receive the free admission.
