Dreams last night

Lots of dreams last night. I woke up a couple times to eat some food and a few of my dreams seemed to start right back up when I went back to sleep. Sadly the dreams have become disjointed, all I have left is a few moments of them.

Somebody in town had some kind of domestic dispute and had gone insane. I was chasing him through the town in a sports car. I kept going too fast and overshooting the target, and fearing the cops would stop me. Eventually this guy slipped down a manhole in the street and sabotaged the nuclear reactor on campus.

Then there was a separate dream where I was waiting at the bus station, urgently trying to beat some huge rush of people that was inevitably coming to get on all the busses out of town. A whole fleet of greyhounds was coming. It became clear a few minutes into the dream that this WAS linked to the first dream because this was the evacuation from the sabotaged nuclear reactor. No one knew if we'd already received a bad dose of radiation or if something was going to explode or if we could escape or what.

Then some of my friends said "zach you should meet this girl, she's interested in the capital campaign". And they brought forward this girl I'd never met before and we started talking about IMC stuff (in the middle of all this chaos). We got on a bus together and she kept asking questions and making suggestions about the building (like have we thought of building our own building from scratch? will we raise more than $100k if we can? etc). She then, in mid conversation, started taking off her shirt, I averted my eyes, embarrased and unsure what was going on. She turned her back to me and asked for a backrub. So as we continued to talk we traded backrubs which was, of course, awesome. Somewhere along the way our bus turned west while the bus with everyone else turned east. Our driver know he's made a mistake and said that in a few hours we'd turn around and catch up to them.

The whole dream had a sort of "until the end of the world" vibe to it, maybe we were all going to die because of this nuke thing but we still had these small personal stories going on.

Saddam rendered meaningless.

Prediction: We got Saddam but the guerilla attacks against our forces will not cease any time soon.

There's no way that disheveled and confused old man was personally or solely directing the resistance campaign against US occupation of Iraq. Whatever structure (if any) is organizing the attacks still exists and the war continues on. Capturing this man is no more an end to hostilities as toppling his statue.

Like khudirambose, I hope he gets a fair trial in a neutral nation. The Hague is the correct venue for this.

Hurray, we captured a criminal. Go us. Now let's stop being criminals ourselves and get on with doing the right thing by the world. Fat chance.
