Alright, I just got done kicking the mono that I picked up in New York City. I've been out of commission for about a month but now I've got my energy back and it's time to kick this campaign into mega-high gear.
I will feed everyone pizza for lunch and dinner! Please let me know if you have any particular dietary concerns.
I need as many people as possible to volunteer to help out this weekend. I've got tons of tasks that can be done.
Our primary task will be doing lit drops from door to door. I'm having brochures made as we speak and I'd like to deliver them all this weekend. If we drop them all, I can have more made at Kinkos on an as needed basis.
As we go door to door we'll be gathering information about who wants yard signs, who wants more information about the campaign, who has questions for me, who is interested in voting Green on November 2nd, etc.
We'll be focusing on the "easy" part of town this weekend. I want to try to visit every voter in the historical main street neighborhood area and in the central urbana neighborhood between my hour and lincoln square mall.
I also have 100 fundraising letters that need to be put into hand addressed envelopes.
If Jen brings her machine we'll have buttons to make as well.
I'll also have some data entry work that I hope someone can help me with.
If it's raining there will still be plenty of indoor stuff to do.
We definitely need to raise more money because I've just tapped out everything we've raised so far with just making photocopies and ordering 250 yard signs. Hopefully the fundraising letters will be fruitful.
If you haven't given via paypal yet (See votezach.org), what are you waiting for?
Oh and also in the works. We're going to have like 5 or 6 Green Party benefit concerts all over town at the end of the month. Look forward to it (if there's anyone out there that wants to take logistical responsibility for a folk or rock benefit show, just let me know). And if you donate $100 to the campaign you get in to all the shows for Oh and also in the works. We're going to have like 5 or 6 Green Party benefit concerts all over town at the end of the month.
