Previous Entry Share Next Entry

The equinox isn't until Saturday but I'm going to be out of town so I did the midnight sacrifice tonight. I am now beardless.

Happy fucking springtime.

A special shout out this Vernal Equinox to dsjones and deaconobvious. I'm the awesomest accidental psychic matchmaker ever.

Hey, if you get a spare moment, will you send a bit of that awesome accidental psychic matchmaking my way? ;P

On another note, wow, I can't imagine you beardless again...

The process to charge the psychic batteries is rather involved. It involves dating me (so I know you really well), then waiting 10 years (so we grow apart), then returning for an unexpected fling (so we still trust each other) and in the midst of that meeting someone (your match!) that you really really get along with and having me see it and approve of it and tell you that you shouldn't be with me but with them and telling everyone else around you.

It isn't the most efficient matchmaking method but boy howdy did it work out the best for everyone in this case.

Hmmm, since I can't guarantee that I'll have an SO in 10 or so years, when do you want to go on our first date? ;P

It's a seasonal beard. I stop shaving in the fall and start in the spring. The beard really helps keep my face warm when I ride my bike in below freezing weather. But it's really nice to be clean shaven in the 90 degree humid heat of Illinois summer.

It used to be a "beard of solitude" that I would start growing when I broke up with someone and shave off when I met someone new. Then it was the opposite when I met someone who liked the beard (I shaved it when we broke up). Now nature, not my relationships, controls my beard.

That's way too complicated an algorithm for facial hair...

Huh, I don't think I can remember seeing you without the beard . . . weird. I am having a hard time imagining it. Oh, congrats on the excellent matchmaking, someone was just gooey happy at work today telling me why he was going on vacation and who he'd be seeing. ;)
