Sometimes I dream of pitchforks and torches and running crooks out on rails.

Grrrrr. I believe if the Republicans win this election, if they maintain control of three branches of government, then democracy as we know it is finished.

Additional face palm, in case you missed it:

The Bush administration has told a federal judge that terrorism suspects held in secret CIA prisons should not be allowed to reveal details of the "alternative interrogation methods" that their captors used to get them to talk.

The government says in new court filings that those interrogation methods are now among the nation's most sensitive national security secrets and that their release -- even to the detainees' own attorneys -- "could reasonably be expected to cause extremely grave damage." Terrorists could use the information to train in counter-interrogation techniques and foil government efforts to elicit information about their methods and plots, according to government documents submitted to U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton on Oct. 26.

Currently, the playback feature of Google Video isn't available in your country.

Too tired for bittorrent. The one I clicked on first needed registration or something.

Lest we slip into one moment of unguarded optimism, believing our voting does stuff like, "matter". I might as well make the same threat I make every "election": I'm moving to Canada.

Well, becoming a citizen takes work. Meanwhile, you have no money, half an art degree, and it's the start of winter. You'll freeze to death in the streets! Don't you get it?! If you die in Canada, you die in REAL LIFE!!

I voted paper. And then I watched it be fed into a big gray box of an optical scanner and disappear from sight. Byebye ballot. I hope you're auditable if needed. I can't tell once you disappear.

I had to choke back snarky comments when offered the question, "touchscreen or paper?" tho. Heh.

Still waiting to see how Missouri turns out.
