culfinglin made some awesome banners for the Music Festival that I'm helping to coordinate.

You rawk. Both of you.

Zach, nobody told me you were co-ordinating a music festival, and since I fell off the Blogosphere for a few months there, I've only just pieced it together. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!

Woo!

Do you think you'll be able to come to the festival? We need LOTS of help at the festival itself. Eva and the_sween will be there pitching in. I can find you a place to stay and get you tickets if you want to come be a core volunteer with us.

As far as help between now and then the big needs are promotion promotion promotion. Spread the word to anyone you know in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, or Northern Illinois/Chicago. Let me know of any good ideas you might have about free or cheap promotional channels. Link the website all over the place.

If you're going to be in the midwest between now and then and would be interested in doing some street team work (putting up posters or going to concerts and handing out handbills) that'd be rocking cool too and I can Hook You Up With Stuff.

I didn't find out soon enough to plan a trip, so there is No Way. I'm already booked to come to Chicago two weekends in September, and then Christmas.

But I can probably do a little promotion for you. Can you email me information to my gmail account? I will then forward it to my Chicago crew.

Send me posters and I'll put them up around town. There are crazy hippies here that would possibly road trip out there.

Do I know your gmail address? I'm horrible about keeping email addresses around, I usually look them up when I need them.

All our promotional materials are here:
http://www.porkiesfestival.org/promote.html

There's poster PDFs there that you can just print out. If you don't have access to a printer just let me know what address to send to and how many you want and I'll send em.

For emails there is an out of date press release that you can edit down into an email:

Hmmm...I coulda sworn I told you about that. Well, if you'd like to go, we can definitely hook you up with pre and post event lodging and maybe even a ride up and back. The latter all depends on how much gear we have cuz we'll be up the for probably 4 or 5 days and whether or not revjack uses his "dibs" for a ride. But then again, if enough people are going and using Madison as a nexus, we could rent something larger to transport ourselves up and back.

Always nice to hear about new music festivals

(Link)
Unfortunately, I'll probably not be able to make it. I'll be going up to the UP for the Grand Marais music festival which one of my friends puts on every year (24th year now) which is two weekends before that, and probably not up to the trek again so soon. I'll definitely keep this in mind, though, in case my schedule shifts around. Maybe next year, I could help with some volunteering if it's going on then.

If you all want more info on that event, it's http://www.grandmaraismichigan.com/ChamberPages/MusicFestival/musicfest.htm

Hope it goes well for you, and look forward to hearing more as things progress.

Yep, we're already doing a bit of cross promotion with them.

Welcome to livejournal. :)

Here's hoping that we're successful enough to do it again next year (I think we will be)!

ah, yes...and Wheatland...Any idea if you'll be around for that? Definitely a good time can be had, if you find the right group of folks. We ended up camping next to some Blissfest folks up there...very nice group...need I say more.

Here's to all the good luck that you may need!

I probably won't make it to any of the other festivals this summer because I'll be so busy pulling together this one. If you wanted to be a super big help to us you could print out some promotional materials from our PDFs and hand them out at the festivals you go to.

Especially useful are the handbills.

If you do this I'll happily send you a free t-shirt.
