Previous Entry Share Next Entry

The tsunami relief benefit that my dad's band is going to be playing in is going to be on Friday, January 14 at 7pm at the Unitarian Church in Woodstock, IL. The address is 221 Dean. Originally he told me Saturday but he just called to let me know it is on Friday.

aethryic and earnbrand how does this affect your plans? earnbrand did you want to drive or car pool as a group with aethyric? aethyric can you still make it if it is Friday rather than Saturday?

the_sween what have you learned? Able to come? Friday?

And duck2ducks what are you doing Birthday-wise? Something on Saturday or Sunday? I hope I didn't mess everything up by encouraging a Friday event and now going to Woodstock on Friday! Can you make it to Woodstock? EDIT: Turns out Don is going to be out of town this weekend so no birthday party madness. :(

Anyone else in?

My plans are wide open, so driving up early on Friday wouldn't be a problem. A car pool would work for me, either as the driver or else chipping in for gas and the like. My only questions are how how long do we plan to stay up there, and what are the sleeping arrangements?

oh, and if we use my car, I have an I-Pass so we don't have to worry about the silly doubled tolls.

Looks like it's just us. If Don will have us I figure we'll crash there. I may split off Friday night to see my parents on Saturday and then come back to the city to meet you and Don.

We'll both head back to Champaign on Sunday night or Monday morning.

We should leave here at 2pm on Friday just to be safe on arrival. That way maybe we can eat some dinner before the show.

Sound like a plan?

Oh yeah! So, erm, turns out I'm gonna be outta town this weekend. *sheepish*

But I'm sure Tish and Billy would have you if you want a place to crash & hang!

Well, I'd love to hang with Tish and William but I'm also quite seriously tempted to just hang with my parents instead if there isn't some already planned partying in the air.

Oh hell. Don's going to be out of town. If there isn't going to be festivities at Don's place I'm really kind of keen to just spend the weekend with my parents and fend for myself on a ride home. If you're still up for the show, you'd be welcome to crash at my parents' place Friday night so you don't have to drive home late that night.

Plans. Unraveling. Oh. Well.

Madison isn't too far north of your folks place. ;)

Yah but it's much farther from home. The nice thing about Chicago is that it is on the way home.

I'm honestly contemplating just going home with Mark if he heads home on Saturday. I dunno, still going over in my head whether I want to go out of my way to be social and have fun, to chill with my parents, or to just come home and actually be here. I don't do that last bit often enough.

Yo so what's the plan? Do you still want to drive up on Friday despite the lack of other stuff going on and me ditching you on Saturday? Or should I just hop the morning train? Lemme know.

It probably is best that I stay in Champaign this weekend. Not so much because of either of those things, but rather stuff for the TA position that I was just offered.

Oo! Good news for you!

I'll get myself some train tickets then. Enjoy a weekend of productivity.

(Since I sent the last message to you I found out that my dad's band is only getting to play TWO songs! They booked 18 performers for the night! I'm agog. Bad planning. :( Oh well.)

Anyway, we'll have to make Don throw a birthday party later in the year and go to that. :)

Wow! Well the buddhist that set this up (at least my dad's band's involvement in it) is the husband of one of the band members. I have no idea what his group is called but this is the church they use for practice so unless there are multiple Buddhist groups at the Woodstock UU Church then it probably is them. Do you know a Mark Garrett by any chance? Cause that's the guy.

Bummer, the change to Friday kills it for me. Eva and I have had long scheduled dinner plans with my boss, a co-worker and their husbands that will last until 8 or 9...

Lemme know if they do another benefit though...
